I just used this process to deploy Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 to 90 iMacs so it should work just fine for everyone. Use Apple Remote Desktop to copy the files and run the install command.
- Copy the Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 folder from the Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 installation DVD to your hard drive.
- Open the deploy folder in the Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 folder copied from the installation DVD in Step 1.
- Copy the AdobePhotoshopElements8xx_XX.install.xml file for the language to be installed to a local drive and close the deploy folder.
- Open the AdobePhotoshopElements8xx_XX.install.xml file copied in Step 3 in TextEdit.
- Locate the following line:
- <Property name=”serialNumber”>EnterSerialNumberHere</Property>
- Replace the string “EnterSerialNumberHere” with your 24-digit AOO volume license serial number (without the dashes).
- Save and Quit TextEdit.
- Create an application.xml.override file:
- Open Notepad.
- Paste the following code into it:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Configuration>
<Payload>
<Data key="EULADelay">0</Data>
<Data key="Registration">Suppress</Data>
<Data key="Updates">Suppress</Data>
</Payload></Configuration>
- Choose File > Save.
- From the Save As Type menu, choose All Files.
- From the Encoding menu, choose UTF-8.
- Type “application.xml.override” in the Filename box.
- Save the file in the Adobe Premiere Elements folder copied in Step 1.
- Copy the Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 folder to your destination machines into their /private/tmp folder.
- Run this Unix command to do a silent, hands-off install.
"/private/tmp/Adobe Photoshop Elements 8/Setup.app/Contents/MacOS/Setup" --mode=silent --deploymentFile="/private/tmp/Adobe Photoshop Elements 8/deploy/AdobePhotoshopElements8en_US.install.xml"
