I’vebeen having issues with a Color LaserJet 5550 freezing daily. After talking to HP, they instructed me to re-initialize the disks. Here are the steps.

  1. Power off the printer
  2. Power on the printer
  3. When the printer starts counting the memory, press and hold “Menu”
  4. When all three lights are lit steady, press the back arrow
  5. The display will show “INITIALIZE DISKS” press the check mark to confirm

This seemed to solve the issue so far. I will update this post if this solution fails.
